The Sigma Continuo horizontal profile is a subsystem capable of working in conjunction with the vertical profiles of the Epsilon “O” and Epsilon “U” Systems. It offers the possibility of placing cut-to-length or staggered cuts with total freedom.

The Sigma horizontal profile is made of aluminum alloy AW-6060/6063-T5. It is a very resistant profile thanks to its carefully designed section. It has a striped area used to make the connection with the vertical profile, by means of a 5.5×25 self-drilling screw and a safety striped counterplate. At this junction point, the horizontal profile must be pre-drilled with a drill bit diameter greater than that of the screw, Ø10-12 mm.

The striped counterplate locks the position of the profile in the vertical axis and at the same time allows its longitudinal movement due to thermal expansions without generating stresses on the screw. In this type of anchorage it is necessary to groove the pieces along the entire length of their upper and lower edges, where the upper and lower nails of the profile will be inserted.

Anchorage Epslion O - Profile Sigma - Strow Sistemas

COMPOSITION

These are the elements that give the system horizontal continuity. They are manufactured by extrusion of aluminum alloy AW-6060/6063-T5 and, like the vertical profiles, they have a black marine lacquer, resistant to aggressive environments QUALICOAT SEASIDE class. Due to their particular design, they have a high resistance moment. The vertical profiles to which they will be fastened (depending on the primary system chosen) are placed on site with a maximum spacing established by the corresponding calculations.

The Sigma profile is fastened to them by means of 5.5×25 self-drilling screws and striped safety washers. At these junction points, a hole with a diameter larger than that of the self-drilling screw must be drilled in the horizontal profile, thus allowing for longitudinal expansions of the profile. These profiles are manufactured in 2 different outlets, 32 mm and 46 mm. The exit is understood as the distance between the support base against the vertical profile and the outer face of the nail. Sigma S.32 profiles These profiles are manufactured in 3 variants: Start, Continuation and End. The Sigma S.46 profiles are manufactured in one variant for Start-Remate and another variant for Continuation.

They are made of extruded aluminium AW-6060/6063 T5 alloy anodized 15 micron in natural matt silver. These anchors connect the vertical profile to the floor slabs of the building, transmitting the load generated by the cladding weight. They are attached to the profile using three stainless steel 5.5 x 25 mm self-drilling screws and aluminium AW-6060/6063 security locking washers, which are attached to the profile lengthways guides.

The connection between the angular load bearing anchors and the profiles can be adjusted horizontally thanks to the oval holes in the profiles. This means the system can be adapted to any possible irregularities in the structural elements of the building.

These anchors are fabricated with different lengths with the aim of giving a solution for the different isolation thicknesses sold in the present market.

Epsilon O - angular load bearing anchors

The angular support anchors are made of extruded aluminium AW-6060/6063 T5 alloy anodized 15 micron in natural matt silver. These anchors connect the vertical profile to the wall of the building distributing the stress generated by the wind forces on the cladding.
They are attached to the profile using stainless steel 5.5 x 25 mm self-drilling screws and aluminium AW-6060/6063 security locking washers, which are attached to the profile lengthways guides. Their special design allows their regulation along the two horizontal axes.

Like the load bearing anchors, the support anchors are fabricated with different lengths.

Here you can download a file (.zip) that includes the BIM families for Revit of all the elements that compose the Epsilon O system: Load and support brackets, Vertical profile, Horizontal profile, Clamps and continuation sleeves. The families have been created specifying the fasteners required in each of the types included in the families, in order to make accurate counts of the total material. In addition, a repository with an example of the components on the facade is included.

These families have been created in Revit 2018 so it will be necessary to open them with the same or a later version.
